Our Story

Gomba Kwagalakwe Public Health Support Foundation

Welcome to the Gomba Kwagalakwe Public Health Support Foundation. Our journey began in 2013, rooted in the heart of Gomba District, a region whose communities face profound challenges in accessing basic, dignified healthcare and support.

Our story is born from the direct, lived experiences within our own district. It began with a series of encounters that laid bare the critical gaps in our local health system: the preventable struggles of mothers, the silent suffering of isolated elders, and the harsh choices families were forced to make. Witnessing a community member’s dire need for emergency care—a need hampered by the lack of a local ambulance or surgical facility—crystallized our founders’ resolve. This was not a distant problem; it was our neighbors, our relatives, our community.

This moment of clarity sparked a mission. We asked a fundamental question: What would it take to build a healthcare support system that leaves no one in Gomba behind? The answer became our blueprint: a multi-faceted foundation dedicated to creating sustainable solutions. From that initial spark, we have grown into a community-driven force, establishing the Geriatric Home, launching campaigns for the Surgical Theatre and Ambulance, and working tirelessly to enhance the Ebenezer Clinic.

Every project we undertake—from ensuring 24/7 laboratory services to fundraising for a solar plant—stems from a specific need whispered by our community. We are not outsiders bringing solutions; we are community members building them, turning shared vulnerability into collective strength and ensuring that care, dignity, and hope are accessible to all in Gomba District.
